The Beijing-Xi’An train line is a very popular train route in China as both cities have some of the most important tourist attractions in China. It is served by many high-speed trains all day long as well as some very good overnight trains. All trains depart or arrive at the Beijing West railway station while in Xi’An high-speed trains connect at the Xi’An north railway station and overnight trains are at the Xi’An railway station.
Beijing-Xi’An high-speed trains
There are 12 bullet (G) trains in each direction along this line. The first train departs in early morning while the last high-speed train departs at 18h55 from Beijing and 18h03 from Xi’An. Beijing-Xi’An overnight normal trains
On this route, it is also possible to take the cheaper but slower overnight trains. Overnight trains between Beijing and Xi’An are very popular with travelers, especially Z19/20. The reason for its popularity is the relative good speed for an overnight train, the convenient departure and arrival times, the fact that it offers the luxury soft sleeper class (compartments for 2 people with a private toilet). Also, because this train makes no intermediate stops, you can get a very good night of sleep without interruptions. Ticket prices are as follows (prices vary depending on the train):
